 What is with authors and killing off characters I like? The fact that this book begins with the pack of devils dying kills me. And after when we find how bad Bryce is doing which makes sense of course. Then Micah  "visits" her at her work and tells her that the person everyone believed killed her friends, Phillip Briggs, did not actually do it. Now she's tasked with finding out the truth with a fallen angel, Hunt as her bodyguard. Somewhere in the course of the investigation, she starts to fall for Hunt, even if she doesn't know it yet. It turns out that Danika killed the pack and then herself after being injected with Synth, a synthetic drug. And how does she figure this out? Well, turns out Hunt is involved in planning a new rebellion involving taking synth. And that he knew about Danika for days and didn't tell her.
